Greece to free half of prisoners

The Greek government has promised to release almost half the country's prison population to help ease overcrowding.

A programme of reform has been tabled before the Greek parliament following a 10-day long hunger strike by inmates of most of the country's jails.

Malcolm Brabant reports from Athens.
